War MemorialThe memorial consisted of a granite cross, raised on a stepped podium, and surrounded by a draped chain balustrade; a bronze crusader’s sword was fixed to the cross and a medallion (’Australia Mourning Her Dead’) which depicts a girl placing a wreath on the head of a dead soldier was attached to the base along with an honour roll; the medallion was created by Miss Dora Hlfsen
