Garry Downward, was a son of Herbert Downward Of ‘Maxweltown’ on Balnarring Road. Jack Johnson lived on a Downward property and worked as a trapper and general help.
Jack and Garry were behind the practice of hanging dead foxes on a tree at the cross roads of Balnarring and Tubbarubba roads. This corner became locally known as ‘Foxeys Hangout’.
