HISTORYBalnarring 2003. Advertising sign for Brooksby Esate sales. Mornington Peninsula Shire held a series of discussions with the community seeking approval for the rezoning of this piece of land to ‘medium density’. The arguments for included requests from long time residents of the district for housing opportunity close to the Balnarring Service Centre. Although agreement was reached some residents led a protest around 2007 against this development arguing the plan was lacking of residents needs eg a park area within its precinct.
The land situated between Balnarring Road and Stumpy Gully Road had been in the ownership of the Brooksby family since the 1940s: they ram a mixed farm business there.
