HISTORYJohn Buckley settled in Balnarring in 1861.He served as councillor, school board member and chairman of the Racing Club.
The Buckleys were early selectors to settling in Balnarring in 1861. They lived in Buckleys Road, now Balnarring Road. They donated land on the corner of Balnarring Road and Bittern Dromana Road as a site for the Catholic Church, St John’s.
John and Catherine had 11 children.
