John Campbell Downward.
Edward Downward and brother John Campbell Downward took uP172 acres in Stanleys Road in 1863 and 312 acres in Merricks Road. Edward’s sons Edward Jr and Alfred also selected land in Balnarring.
Alfred, in addition to being a grazier, became a politician serving on local council and as a State Member of Legislative Assembly..
