HISTORY

Somers c.1930. North of Tulum Creek.
The mouth of Merricks Creek was a moving estuary. In the 1930s it formed a sandbar north of its present outlet and entered the bay beyond the site towards the Somers Yacht Club. In the 1080s the mouth was stabilised to control the creek’s natural flow because sand erosion threatened houses and other assets.
