HISTORY

Septimus Miller Planck (1839-1920) was the first head teacher of Balnarring’s first shool.
Born 1861 in Hampton, London, he migrated to Australia in 1863/4 under the Land Grants scheme. He first settled in Queensland, then moved to Victoria. He arrived in Balnarring district in 1871. As well as teaching in Balnarring he became head teacher of Shoreham school.
Septimus was a good cricketer - he and his two sons played for Flinders.
