HISTORYThis workshop was at the corner of High St. and Salmon St. On the back of the image are the words “Albert Smith, Telephone 527.4404, 6 Wavenhoe Ave East St. Kilda 3183. The corner of High St and Salmon St Hastings (the site of the supermarket) about 1909”
DESCRIPTIONThis image shows a corrugated iron workshop with the words “W. SMITH GENERAL BLACKSMITH WHEELWRIGHT & [...]” To the right of the workshop a timber house with a verandah can partially be seen. In front of the workshop are a covered buggy with 4 wheels and a 2 wheeled cart with the words “F.G. PERROTT BUTCHER” written on the side. 4 men are standing around the cart, one with a bundle tied to a stick over his shoulder, and a small girl on a pony.
