HISTORY

This is a photograph of a Hastings resident Frederick Ernest Wilson (known as Ern), taken before he left with the Australian Army in World War 1. He was born on 28/08/1889 and died, at age 25 years, on 03/05/1915. He died in Alexandria Hospital as a result of bayonet wounds sustained at the landing in Gallipoli. “Frederick Ernest Wilson” is written on the back of the postcard.
