HISTORY

The photograph shows the Memorial Gates and State School at Hastings. The printing on the bottom of the photograph is as follows: “The Rose Series P. 10643” “The Memorial Gates & State School, Hastings, Vic.”. This is from a series of photos of the Hastings area from Rose. This photograph was donated by Dr Bruce Bennett and is from the collection of Ron Benton.

DESCRIPTION

This image is of the Memorial Gates and the State School at Hastings. It shows the main building with four large windows at the front and a chimney on the right-hand side. An older building is on the left-hand side. The Memorial Gates are curved stone entry with two wire gates. There is a letterbox on the footpath and the road is gravel. Many large trees are beside and behind the buildings. The title is printed at the bottom of the photograph along with the maker’s details.
