HISTORY

The photograph shows the Salt Water Baths at Hastings. This is one of the Rose series of postcards taken of Hastings. The printing on the back of the postcard is as follows: “Published by the Rose Stereograph Co. Armadale, Victoria” “The ‘Rose’ Series De Luxe” and “A Real Photograph Produced in Australia”.

DESCRIPTION

The image is a colour postcard of the Salt Water Baths in Hastings. In the centre of the photograph is a high diving board. There is no one in the pool. The bathing pavilion is on the right-hand side and houses are on the left and rear of the photograph. Two large shrubs are in the foreground on the left and the right of the diving board. The printing on the bottom is as follows: “The Rose Series P4378” and “Salt Water Baths, Hastings, Vic.”
