HISTORYThe Royal Hotel is on the corner of High Street and Salmon Street, Hastings. It was later re-named “Western Port Hotel”. The car in the street is a ‘Standard 10’. The printing on the front of the photograph is as follows: “The Rose Series P.13939” and “Royal Hotel, Hastings, Vic.”This is one of the series of “Rose” postcards of Hastings”. “A Real Photograph Produced in Australia” is printed on the back.
DESCRIPTIONThe image is of the Royal Hotel, Hastings. It is situated on the corner of two streets. The hotel is on two floors and the name ROYAL HOTEL is clearly visible in large letters on the front and side of the hotel. There is a car parked on the left-hand side of the hotel in the background. There are clouds in the sky.
