HISTORYThere are two “original postcards” of this image. They are part of the Rose Series of photographs of various views taken at Hastings of churches and schools. The printing on the bottom of the postcard is: “The Rose Series P. 226 The Catholic School. Hastings. Vic.”. On the back of each postcard is: “Post Card A Real Photograph Produced in Australia”.
DESCRIPTIONThis image is of the Catholic School at Hastings. There are two buildings. The building on the left has a wooden cross on the fascia board at the front of the building. There is a flag pole near the fence in front of the building on the right. There is post rail fence in front of both buildings with a picket fence in the centre section. Large trees are seen in the background. There is a large front section between the road the the buildings consisting of grass and gravel. Printed on the bottom of the picture is: “The Rose Series P.226 The Catholic School. Hastings. Vic.”.
