HISTORYThis photo is of the Methodist Church at Hastings. In 1871 they received a government grant of one and a half acres on the corner of Hodgins and Hastings Road (now called Marine Parade) at Hastings. On 24/09/1871 the building was built and this photograph shows the present brick building. Printed on the back of the photo is: “Hastings Methodist Church Hodgins Rd Hastings”.
DESCRIPTIONThis is an image of a brick church with a galvanised iron roof. A small building is joined to the back of the church. A post and rail fence is shown along the right-hand side of the church with a gate half way along. There is long grass in the foreground and large trees to the left and right of the church. A small section of road is visible.
