HISTORY

This is a photo of the Anglican Church (Holy Trinity) at Hastings. The original sign “Holy Trinity” did not mention “The Church of England”. The original church opened on 28/12/1884. In 1933 a new Chancel and Sanctuary was built to the design of Louis R. Williams. Printed on the back of the photo in biro is: “Church of England Church Street Hastings”.

DESCRIPTION

This image shows a church consisting of three buildings joined together. There is a weatherboard building at the front with an iron roof and a narthex at the front. Behind this building is a brick building with a tile roof and older wooden building with an iron roof is at the rear. A cross is at the top of the front building and another cross can be seen at the back of the middle building. Small trees are seen in the foreground surrounded by stakes and wire netting. Untidy grass is all around the building and there are large trees in the background. Part of a building can be seen off to the right of the photo. There is a noticeboard in the foreground.
