HISTORY

This photograph taken in the Hastings area is probably of a cricket team as they did not always wear whites and most of these men were noted sportsmen. The names of the men are as follows: Back row (left to right) Nipper Floyd, Nick Ammendola, Reg Lewis, unknown. Front row (left to right) Arthur Robinson, Frank Robinson, Fred Smith, Andy Ammendola, Fagin Knox. Written on the back of the photograph in blue biro is: “1904 Photo at Hastings Given to Society in 1981 by Mr Norman Francis of Tyabb”.

DESCRIPTION

This image is of a group of nine men in front of a large tree trunk. Four men are standing at the back and five are kneeling/crouching at the front. The last man on the right-hand side of the photo has one arm around a dog and he is holding a stick in his other hand. All men are dressed in three-piece suits. Seven of the men are wearing hats and the other two men are wearing caps. Five of the men have flowers in their lapels. Small trees are behind the large tree trunk.
