HISTORYThis is a portrait of Mrs Barclay who was the wife of early pioneer, James Barclay. Written on the back in blue biro is ‘Mrs Jas Barclay’.
DESCRIPTIONThis image is of the head and shoulders of a woman wearing a high-necked garment with a tasselled collar and a wide satin tie. She has similar tassels on top of her bonnet. She has a stern expression on her face. “Yeoman & Co Bourke St, East Melbourne” is printed at the bottom of the photograph.
