HISTORYThis early photograph is of residents of Hastings. Written on the back in blue pen is: “Back Row Left to right, Bill Harrison (Mrs Mair Snr’s brother), Tom Baxter, Tony Harrison, Frank Unthank. Middle Mr Nair. Front Row, Bill Baker, Bill Boe, Jack Baker, Geo Denham, Bill Noble”. The name of the man on the far right of the photograph is unknown as it has been torn from the mounting.
DESCRIPTIONThis image consists of a group of eleven men. Five men are in the back row. One man is sitting in the middle and there are five men in the front row, both kneeling and sitting. All men except one are wearing hats and his hat is on the ground in front of him. The man sitting next to him is holding a book or paper in his hand. All men, except two are wearing suits. A man in the back row, second from the left, has a very long beard. There are a lot of low tree branches behind the men and a suit coat is hanging on a wire on the left-hand side of the photograph.
