HISTORYThis is one of a series of colourized early postcards of Somerville, Victoria showing the Recreation Reserve. Printed on the bottom of the postcard is: “Recreation Reserve, Somerville. Vic.” and printed on the back is: “Post Card For Correspondence For Address”.
DESCRIPTIONThis image shows a large area of grassed land with a fenced area in the centre. A building with a red roof can be seen in the background and a mounted cannon is in the middle, foreground. A gravel road is seen on the right-hand side of the image. Pine tree branches can be seen in the foreground, left-hand side and gum tree branches on the right-hand side of the image. Pine trees can be seen in the background. Printed at the bottom is: “Recreation Reserve, Somerville, Vic.”.
