HISTORYThis is a very early photograph of the Osterlund residence with Post Office, at Stony Point, before April, 1918. On the back of the photograph, written in blue biro is: “Stony Point before 1918 Photo before 4 month 1918 The Osterlund residence”.
DESCRIPTIONThis image shows a weather-board house on the left-hand side of the photograph with the words BOARD & RESIDENCE at the front. Seated on chairs outside are three women. The woman on the left of the photograph is patting a dog. There is a small child standing between the next two women. The woman on the right has a bouffant hair style and is nursing a cat. There is a trellis on the wall behind the group. A large creeper is growing at the front verandah of the house. A very small section of a water tank can be seen on the left-hand side of the house. A small fence at the front joins onto a second small weather-board building with the words POST OFFICE above the window. On either side of the window are notices stuck to the wall. A very large tree is behind the Post Office building.
