HISTORYThis Victoria Woollen Co Ltd building is on the corner of Victoria and Church Street, Hastings, on the north-west corner. Their Head Office is in Thomas Street, Yarraville. Written on the back of the photograph in blue biro is: “Babington collection”.
DESCRIPTIONThe image shows part of a large brick building with ‘school type’ windows along the left-hand side of the photograph and two sets of louvres either side of the wide front door. On the awning over the doorway is the sign VICTORIA WOOLLEN Co Ltd HEAD OFFICE THOMAS ST YARRAVILLE. There is a post and wire-netting fence across the front of the building. A concrete footpath and grass are in the foreground. Part of another building can be seen in the distance on the right-hand side of the photograph with a large tree behind it.
