HISTORYThis is a photograph of Coralina Barclay and her long-haired terrier dog, Tiny. The creeper they are standing under is a ‘Morning Glory’. The Barclay Family are early pioneers of Hastings. Written on the back of the postcard is: “Coralina Barclay Coral & Tiny about 1907 Pictorial Post Card”. She became Mrs Owen Bryant, (refer to Mrs Jean Bryant, Stumpy Gully Road, Hastings).
DESCRIPTIONThis image shows a beautifully dressed young woman standing under an archway covered in a creeper. There is a terrier dog standing at her feet. Her dress is almost to the ground. It has a beautiful high lace collar, long ‘puff’ sleeves with a wide wrist band. The top is ‘bloused’ at the waist and the skirt is slightly gathered. Her hair is parted on the right side of her head. She is holding a small branch in her right hand. Wire netting can be seen at the back of the trellis.
