HISTORYThis group of people have gathered for the opening of the new foreshore in Marine Parade, Hastings, in 1929. The car belonged to A.E. Hollier who was a resident of Tyabb. He lived on the corner of Pike’s Road and McKirdy’s Road. The car is a c. 1910, 60 HP Napier.
DESCRIPTIONThis image shows a large group of men, women and children, mostly with their backs to the camera, watching a car passing by. Everyone is well dressed and wearing hats. There are flags and banners flying. A gas lamp can be seen behind the car and a horse and carriage is partly visible on the left hand side of the photograph. Water can be seen in the far background. There is a pile of bricks in the foreground.
