HISTORYThis pig belongs to T.H. Barclay, a mixed farmer from Graydens Road, Tyabb. Written on the back of the photograph in blue biro is: “Jona Vale Beauty 2nd, 3rd Melb 1953 1st Champ Lang Langt 1954 1st champ Korumburra”.
DESCRIPTIONThis image is of a very large Wessex Saddle-back pig. The pig is standing side-on and almost fills the entire image. Behind the pig is a post and rail fence. The pig is standing on grass. A man can be seen from the chest up standing behind the pig looking at her. He is wearing a hat, shirt, tie and coat. He is wearing dark rimmed spectacles. A calf is behind the fence and appears to be tied to the fence. In the distance on the left-hand side of the photograph, vehicles can be seen. The photographer’s stamp is embossed at the bottom right-hand side of the image.
