HISTORY

This is a photograph of The Beach Road at Dromana in Victoria and is one of a series of Rose postcards. Printed on the back of the postcard is: “Real Photo Post Card The ‘Rose’ Series De Luxe Produced in Australia Published By ‘The Rose Stereographs’ Armadale, Victoria”. There is also an image of a rose on the back of the postcard.

DESCRIPTION

This photograph is taken from a height looking down on a beach scene. There is a hut on the beach with a small structure extending out into the water. A line of thick trees and grass separates the beach from the road. A line of telegraph poles line the right-hand side of the road and more trees and shrubs can be seen to the right of the poles. A horse-drawn vehicle can be seen in the far distance on the road. A long pier can be seen in the background. Some buildings can be seen through the trees in the background and a line of hills is in the far background. Printed on the front of the image is: “The Rose Series, P2084 Copyright The Beach Road, Dromana, Victoria”.
