HISTORY

This is a photograph of Fred Perrott (left) and Bill Peddle (right). Written on the back of the photograph in green pen is: “To Dear Mrs Peddle with love L.P. Poor old Dad looks weary”. Also written in blue biro is: “Fred Perrot (left) Bill Peddle (right)” and “Mr Perrot B Peddle”. Fred Perrott was the son of Frederick George Perrott, both of whom were butchers in Hastings. The L.P. on the reverse of the photograph would have been Lilian Perrott, daughter-in-law of Frederick Perrott.

DESCRIPTION

This image shows two men, from the hips up, standing side by side. The man on the left of the photograph is elderly and wearing an open-necked shirt, overalls and a waistcoat. He has a pipe tucked into his belt and a walking stick in his right hand. The other younger man is taller and is wearing an open-necked shirt, suit and hat. There is a white container on the ground to his left. There is a paddock of grass behind them and a fence and trees can be seen in the far background. There is a shrub to the right of the elderly man and a post behind the other man.
