HISTORY

This is a photograph of Perrotts slaughtering pen, taken before 1920. The men in the photograph are (left to right): Fred Perrott, Bert King and Jack Shaw. These names are written on the back of the copy of this photograph in blue biro along with “about 1920”.

DESCRIPTION

This image shows a shed made of rough timber with three men standing facing the camera with an animal carcass hanging from hooks between each man. The man on the left-hand side of the photograph is standing with hand on hip and part of his face and shoulder has been torn away. All men have shirt sleeves rolled up and are wearing wide leather belts with ‘knife holsters’ attached. The man on the right-hand side has a cigarette in his mouth. Trees can be seen in the background.
