HISTORYThis group of men are the Councillors of the shire of Flinders. They are standing outside the Shire Chambers, which is situated in Dromana. It was taken in the late 1930’s and may have been 1938. Written on the back of the photograph, in blue biro, is: “Councillors of Shire of Flinders Late 1930’s perhaps 1938”.
DESCRIPTIONThis image shows a group of fourteen men, all dressed in white shirts, ties and three-piece suits standing on the steps outside a building. The building has two huge pillars and big arches. Windows can be seen behind the verandah to the left and right of the photograph and a glass door is in the centre. There are six men in the back row and eight men in the front row. Most of the men are elderly and the man in the centre, front row, is standing with his hands in his trouser pockets. Typed on white paper and glued on the bottom of the mounting is: “Councillors of Shire of Flinders Late 1930’s”. Also stamped in ink on the mounting is: “Shop Photo Rye”.
