HISTORYThis is a postcard of the Jetty at Hastings. It is one of a series of Rose postcards taken of the Hastings area. Printed on the back of the postcard is: “Published by the Rose Stereograph Co. Armadale, Victoria. POST CARD The “Rose” Series De Luxe A Real Photograph Produced in Australia”. There is also an image of a rose in the centre.
DESCRIPTIONThis image is of a jetty, taken from the end of the jetty, looking back towards the town. There are at least eight fishing boats tied up to the jetty and more boats can be seen on the other side of the jetty and on the shoreline. A boat-shed is on the jetty on the left-hand side of the postcard. Fishing nets are hanging over a rail in the foreground. Tall poles can be seen along the jetty. Buildings and houses are in the background set amongst large tree. Printed at the bottom of the postcard is: “The Rose Series P. 13936 copyright The Jetty, Hastings, Vic.”.
