HISTORYThis is the Hastings Football Premiers of 1913. The building behind the players is the Hastings Primary School in Hodgins Road, Hastings. The names of the team members have been typed onto white paper and glued to the back of the photograph. They are as follows: (back) E. Robinson (trainer), S. Sposito, W. Perriam, F. Robbins, A. Incigneri, A. McDonald, L. Potts, H. Kerr (Secretary), trainer. (middle) Mr J. Latchford (V-President), B. Francis, D. Reid, F. Floyd (Captain), J. Campbell (Captain), B. Gomm, B. Jack, A. Boulter. (front) F. Boulter, D. Longmuir, A. Lothian, G. Slocombe, C. Moffat (absent) H. Carmichael, W. Denham. Also written on the back in blue biro is: “A.E. Perrott and K. Strachan”.
DESCRIPTIONThis image is of a football team posing for a photograph. There are nine men standing in the back row, seven men sitting in the middle row, two men sitting in the third row and three men sitting cross-legged on the ground at the front. An elderly man is sitting on a chair on the left-hand side of the photograph. He is wearing a three-piece suit with a tie, hat, fob chain and is holding a cane in his left hand. The man in the centre of the photograph is holding a football with the initials HFC between his knees. There is a brick building behind the men with four very large windows in the centre. Written on the mounting at the bottom right-hand side is: ‘ “Burram” Melb’.
