HISTORYThis is the Hastings Premiership Football Team of 1946. The names of the men have been printed on paper and glued to the back of the photograph and are as follows: Back Row: Fred Smith, Gordon Allen, George Slocombe (Captain), Les Tolson, Eddie Fisher, Mick Langman, Bob Stone, Percy Wilson, Tom Barclay (President), Vic Porter, Mal Carmicheal, Yanna Mirabella, Dick Balche, ? Trainor, Tom Wilson, Tony Mirabella, Biddy Jack. Front Row: Len Perriam, Sonny Mirabella, Ron Peterson, Harry Victor, Alan Anderson, Kevin Hodgins, Bert Wilson, Vic Ward, Jack Roberts, Ally Giles. Also written on the back in blue biro is: “Hastings Team 1946 Premiers”.
DESCRIPTIONThis image shows a football team posing for a photo. There are seventeen men standing, ten men crouching and a boy sitting cross-legged at the front. The man standing on the left-hand side at the back is wearing long dark trousers, white shirt, sleeves rolled up to the elbow, and a tie. There is a man standing behind the team, fifth from the left, wearing a cap, shirt, tie and coat and four men on the extreme right-hand side of the photograph are not wearing football uniforms. Another man with only head and hat visible is also standing in the back row. The are posing in front of a large brick building with four air vents visible along the wall.
