HISTORYThis is one of a series of photographs showing the development of the BP Oil Refinery at Crib Point. A scale model of BP’s process units was built at the site to help with their construction and for training and maintenance purposes. Written on the back in pencil is: “BP Refinery 1964-65”.
DESCRIPTIONThis image shows two chimney stacks being built. They are surrounded by scaffolding. Part of another chimney stack can be seen on the far right-hand side of the photograph. Two men wearing hard hats are standing with their backs to the camera surveying the scene. A ladder is standing up against the scaffolding in front of them. Another man, wearing a hard hat, is partly visible in a hole on the bottom right-hand corner of the photograph. A forty-four gallon drum is on the ground on the left-hand side. A sticker is attached to the top right-hand side of the photograph and reads: “Chimney Stacks at BP Refinery”.
