HISTORYThe swearing-in of the Councillors of the Shire of Hastings took place on 06/11/1960 and the names of the Councillors are as follows:- Cr W.T. Long, Cr W.G. Myers, Cr J.B. Paton, Cr G.G.A. Downward, Cr J. Langman and Cr G.D. Gorrie. The date and the names are written on the back of the photograph.
DESCRIPTIONThis image shows a group of six men standing before a seventh man at a swearing-in ceremony. They are all holding a book in their right hand and the seventh man is reading from a sheet of paper. Two microphones on stands are beside him. Wooden buildings can be seen on the right-hand side of the photograph and people are standing in front of them, including a girl, holding a bouquet of flowers and two men in uniform.
