HISTORY

This photograph is of the Hastings Australian Rules Football Team in the mid to late 1930s. It was taken in front of the old Hastings Grandstand, off Marine Parade. The photograph was donated by Mrs Jean Peters who is the daughter of Thomas Barclay. He was the President of the Hastings Football Club for a number of years. Written on the back in black pen is: “Jean Peters 23 River St Maidstone.

DESCRIPTION

This image shows a football team along with other team personnel posing for a photograph in front of a grandstand. There are nine players standing in the back row, eight players sitting on a stool and two players sitting back to back on the grass at the front with a football between. There are four men in suits along with a dog on the left-hand side of the group and two men, one in a suit standing and one crouching on the ground. Four posts and the railing are at the front of the grandstand and there are five people sitting in the grandstand. The photographers name is stamped on the right-hand corner.
