HISTORYThis group of school children are from the Hastings School. Mary Oliver, Bill Haddock’s sister, is one of the pupils. Written on the back of the photograph in blue biro is: “about 58 yrs ago 1922 M Oliver Watts Rd Hastings 791412
DESCRIPTIONThis image shows a group of four rows of school children posing for a photograph beside their school. There are twelve children in the back row, thirteen children in the second back row, twelve children in the second front row and ten children sitting cross-legged on the grass in the front row. One child in the front row is holding a small blackboard with” Hastings School No. 1098 2?-2-28 Grades V, VI, VII, VIII”. A brick wall and several large windows can be seen behind the children. The photographers details are stamped on the mounting.
