HISTORYThis photograph was taken at the send off party for Dr and Mrs John Williams when they were leaving Hastings. They are in the centre of the image. The man presenting the book on the right-hand side is Mr Jack Langman. He was a councillor for the Shire of Bittern/Riding. The minister presenting the certificate is the Rev Peter Kissick. He was the vicar of the Holy Trinity Church, Hastings. Written on the back in blue biro is: “Dr & Mrs John Williams send off party June 6th 1968”. The second copy measures L10 x W14. Written on the back of this copy in pencil is: “Dr & Mrs John Williams send-off party June 6, 1968 Rev Peter Kissick Mrs Williams Dr John Williams Jack Langman”. The original of this photograph is the property of Dell Mirabella.
DESCRIPTIONThis image shows a group of three men and one woman. The three people on the left are looking at the man on the right who is presenting the man next to him with a book. Both these men are dressed in suits, white shirts and ties. The man on the left-hand side of the image is a minister of religion and he is holding a certificate. The woman is holding a present in a box tied with ribbon and a bouquet of flowers. Everyone is smiling.
