HISTORY

These men are fishing at Hastings. They are John Mirabella, Harold Porter and Bill Patience. Written on the back of the photograph in blue biro is: “John Mirabella Harold Porter Bill Patience”. The original photograph is owned by Dell Mirabella. The second copy measures L10 x W12.5.

DESCRIPTION

This image shows three men standing in a boat all talking and smiling with each other. The man at the rear is holding part of a fishing net. He is wearing a white shirt, overalls and rubber boots. He is wearing a hat and sun glasses. The man on the left has his back to the camera. He is wearing a white shirt, dark trousers and thigh length rubber boots. He is wearing spectacles, has dark curly hair and is holding a glass in his right hand. The man on the right is wearing a check shirt, cardigan and light coloured trousers. He is wearing a hat and dark rimmed spectacles. There are fishing nets all over the bottom of the boat and wooden boxes can be seen on the far right-hand side of the image. Another small wooden boat is alongside. There are fish in the bottom and a pile of nets. Water is in the background.
