HISTORYThis is a Soldier’s Memorial beside the road in Salmon Street, Hastings. Written on the back in blue biro is: “Hastings Monument”.
DESCRIPTIONThis image shows a monument in park land behind a fence. The fence has high brick posts with rope or chain strung between them and a lower brick wall underneath. A flag pole stands on the left-hand side of the image. There are several trees in the grounds and water can be seen in the background. A street is in the foreground. A fuel tanker, with the words PLUME printed on the side is parked on the side of the road beside the fence. A winged horse and the word VACUUM is printed on the back of the fuel tanker.
