HISTORY

This image shows Laura Purves and Bill Haddock, two members of the Hastings-Western Port Historical Society. They are standing near the archway of the Remembrance Garden of Peace in the Pioneer Cottage, which is part of the Museum complex. This photograph was taken before the seat under the arch was built. Laura was the youngest member of the Society. The remembrance garden was officially opened on 11/11/1995.

DESCRIPTION

This image shows a young girl holding a bunch of flowers standing beside an elderly man who is handing her a single flower. They are both smiling for the camera. The girl is dressed in a blue check school uniform and is wearing a blue jumper. Her hair is pulled back with a ribbon at the top. The man is wearing brown pants and a pullover over his shirt. He has grey hair. A picket fence is behind them and they are standing on a brick path with bark chip on either side. Some grass and part of a garden can be seen on the right-hand side and large trees are in the background.
