HISTORY

This image is an apple packing shed in Hastings. The photograph comes from the Babington Collection.

DESCRIPTION

This image shows a man and a woman packing apples from an apple grader in a shed. They are taking the apples and placing them into boxes. Boxes of apples are on the floor in the foreground and other boxes of apples are on a pallet on the right-hand side of the image. Empty boxes are pilled up on a shelf at the back on the right-hand side. Photographs line the wall on the left-hand side and three large overhead lights can be seen.
