HISTORYThis cottage is Watt’s Police Station. The man is Constable James Watt with his family on arrival at Hastings. This is from the S. Watt Collection.
DESCRIPTIONThis is a very faded image of a small wooden cottage with an iron roof. A man, woman, two small children, a baby and a dog are outside the white picket fence on the footpath, in front of the cottage. The woman is sitting on a chair nursing the baby. A three post verandah in at the front of the cottage and wrought iron lace work is between the posts. A window can be seen either side of the front door and a smaller window, with curtains, is on the right-hand side of the cottage. The original photographers details are shown at the left-hand side.
