HISTORYThis railway crossing is on the Frankston-Flinders Road at Hastings at the Hawkins Road intersection - Melway page 107, B7.
DESCRIPTIONThis image shows a railway line crossing a road. There are railway crossing lights with the sign ‘stop on red signal’ on both sides of the road. The back of a utility can be seen in the centre of the image driving around a bend in the road. Several post and rail fences can be seen in the foreground and on both sides of the track. An advertising sign for “Ron Wilson, Removalist” can be seen on the side of the road between the gum trees which line the left-hand side of the road. White lines can be seen on the road in the foreground. Typed in black on white paper and glued to the front of the image is: “Hawkins Rd. Intersection rail Crossing near Somerville.”
