HISTORYThis is the pier and fishing shed at Hastings in the Western Port. It is from the John Mirabella Collection.
DESCRIPTIONThis image shows a man standing on a foreshore with his left arm stretched out pointing. He is dressed in dark clothes and wearing a cap. Behind him can be seen part of a shed, a pier jutting out into the water and a line of fishing boats with tall masts. Fishing nets are hanging over the railing of the pier. Several people can be seen along the jetty. Printed at the bottom is: “2.7 Boats then progressed to sailing boats.”. Also printed in white on the sand is: “Hastings”.
