HISTORYThe woman in the centre is Miss Lily Petersen and the man is her brother Arthur Petersen. Lily was Post Mistress at Crib Point from 1917 to 1942, when she took sick leave. She never married and was buried at Crib Point Cemetery on November 13, 1963, aged 87. Arthur had a garage. Written on the back of the photograph in pencil is: “Arthur Petersen Lily Petersen”. The number ‘7659’ is also stamped on the back
DESCRIPTIONThis image shows two women and a man standing on a roadway beside the water. The taller woman on the left is wearing a cardigan with a belt and a box pleated skirt. The woman in the centre is wearing an overcoat and holding a bag under her arm. The man is wearing a shirt, tie and three-piece suit. There are trees beside and behind them and a jetty can be seen disappearing out into the water. Part of a building can be seen under the trees in the distance.
