HISTORYThis bungalow is St Andrews at Flinders. The photograph was taken about 1910. It was a boarding house run by David Maxwell.
DESCRIPTIONThis image shows a distant photograph of a bungalow building in a pine tree setting surrounded by tall hedges. A road with tracks is in the foreground. A large clump of pampas grass is on the right-hand side of the image and part of a large pine tree is behind the grass. A small, neatly trimmed tree is on the left-hand side. Part of a bay and water is on the top, left-hand side of the image and undulating hills covered in shrubs are in the background. Printed in white at the bottom of the image is: “WEST HEAD FROM BUNGALOW FLINDERS”. Printed on the mounting at the bottom is: “St Andrews Flinders about 1910 Boarding House run by Da Maxwell”. To the right of that is written: “Now 24 cm reduce to 15.5 cm”.
