HISTORYThis group of people are on the Scenic Railway at Katoomba, N.S.W. The photograph was found amongst papers donated by Charles Henry Hodgins. No history is known about the men and woman.
DESCRIPTIONThis image shows a group of six people sitting in an open railway carriage. The two older men in the front seat are wearing hats and three-piece suits. They are holding a piece of paper in their hands. Their feet are on the wire cage in front of them. The couple behind them are a woman and man, both wearing hats. He is wearing a suit and tie and she has a white collar over a pullover and is wearing spectacles. The two younger men in the back seat are both wearing suits and ties. An elderly man with spectacles and dressed in a three-piece suit and cap, holding a piece of paper in his left hand, is standing at the side looking on. A faded sign above the carriage reads: “Katoomba Scenic Railway”. Written in ink on the mounting board at the top is : “Katoomba June 1947”.
