HISTORYThese motor vehicles are the Hastings-Western Port Historical Societies’ entry in the Hastings Day Parade in High Street, Hastings, on 23 February, 2002. The green car is Brian Redfern’s 1928 Oldsmobile. The two vehicles with the red wheels are both 1907 McIntyre cars. The yellow vehicle at the front is David Mason’s 1928 Overland Whippet. This information is written on the back of the photograph.
DESCRIPTIONThis image shows a parade of four vintage motor vehicles driving down the middle of a street, away from the camera. People line both sides of the street. Shop fronts can be seen on the right-hand side of the image including Bayne & Friend Pharmacy and the Hastings Bakery. The vehicle at the front is yellow with a black roof, the next two vehicles are black with red wheels and the vehicle closest to the camera is green with a black roof. A small white dog can be seen inside the green car. A white balloon is in the foreground. High electricity poles line the right-hand side of the street.
