HISTORYThese motor vehicles are in High Street, Hastings and are the Hastings-Western Port Historical Societies’ entry for the Hastings Day held on 23/02/2002. The yellow car is an 1928 Overland Whippet, owned by David Mason. It is followed by an 1907 McIntyre car owned by Russ White and following that another McIntyre car owned by Warwick Bayley. The last green car is an 1928 Oldsmobile owned by Brian Redfern. This information is written on the back of the photograph.
DESCRIPTIONThis image shows four vintage motor vehicles, followed by fire trucks, driving down the middle of a street. People and shops line the left-hand side of the street. Two of the shops are “Home Hardware” and “ACLSORTS”. The first vehicle is yellow with black mud guards, four doors, a black soft top and yellow spokes in the wheels. Three people can be seen inside the vehicle. The second vehicle is black with a black soft top and very large red wheels. Two people are in the vehicle. A small Australian flag is on the vehicle. The next vehicle is black with large red wheels but has no top. It carries two people and the last vintage motor vehicle is green with a black soft top. Fire trucks follow. All cars have a sign at the front which reads: “Hastings-Western Port Historical Society Incorporated”. Several power poles line the street and a large tree is behind the yellow car.
