HISTORYThese motor vehicles are in High Street, Hastings and are the Hastings-Western Port Historical Societies’ entry for the Hastings Day held on 23/02/2002. The leading vehicle is a 1907 McIntyre car owned by Russ White. The following 1907 McIntyre car is owned by Warwick Bayley. This information is written on the back of the photograph. The last green car is an 1928 Oldsmobile owned by Brian Redfern.
DESCRIPTIONThis image shows three vintage motor vehicles driving down the middle of a street. People and shops line the left-hand side of the photograph. The first black car has large red wheels and a black soft top. Two people are in the vehicle. An Australian flag is at the front of the vehicle and the word “McIntyre” is in gold writing across the front of the car. A similar McIntyre car is following with two people, but has no roof. Part of a green vintage car is seen at the rear. All vehicles have a sign at the front which reads: “Hastings-Western Port Historical Society Incorporated”. A large tree is on the footpath. “Hastings Home Hardware” is the shop the leading car is passing.
