HISTORYThis is the newly extended Hastings Shire Offices in the 1970s on Marine Parade. The first council meeting was held on 06/11/1963. The large pine tree is the historic ‘Perrott’ tree, Cypress Lambertiana. The tree was planted in 1902 by Alice Maud Mary Perrott of Hastings. Local residents were encouraged to plant trees that year to mark the coronation of Edward VII.
Another photograph of this image appears at P1151.57 in the J.T.Riley Collection.
